I could reccomend like a billion things but I'll start by re-iterating how desperately everyone here needs to read the 20th century boys manga,

I bought the first two collections but haven't had a chance to start them yet. I can't wait as the story sounds awesome :)

if you havent seen much anime or you just want some shit thats just gonna grab you from the beginning and continuously suck you off with coolness I recommenced you indulge in the anime crack that is Death Note if you haven't seen it already.

plot summary from imdb:
Light Yagami finds the "Death Note," a notebook with the power to kill, and decides to create a Utopia by killing the world's criminals, and soon the world's greatest detective, "L," is hired to find the perpetrator. An all out battle between the greatest minds on earth begins, the winner controlling the world.

you can watch it all there or should easily be able to find some torrent of it though I reccomend always going with the subtitled original japanese audio version

Damn, you're killing me here with all the good recommendations. I found subbed AVIs finally, most of Anime online are RMVB which is not supported by my Popcorn Hour :(

read this deliciously entertaining and suspenseful manga for sweet sweet crazy death gamble fun and goodness
this and the anime and manga Kaiji by the same guy are two badass stories that use these crazy awesome gambling games to say so much about human nature while kicking your ass with pure intense joy, gambling emperor zero is my favourite of his though and if you dont like it at first stick with it once they all get to the fucking death gambling disneyland you'll be fuckin hooked

Checked out a few pages online and I'll have to look for it at a local manga store. I have 20th Century Boys but haven't started it yet. Will have to soon :)

evangelion is a masterpiece, definetely watch it. I reccomend startring with the original 26 episode series but keep in mind the last two eps (25 and 26) are COMPLETELY FUCKED AND EXPLAIN NOTHING because I guess they were running out of budget for the show so if you want the proper ending watch the movie "The End of Evangelion" which essentially re does the ending and picks up right after the end of episode 24,

but yah watch that shit, seriously

I'd suggest skipping Eva and watching RahXephon instead, it's basically Evangelion without the Evangelion-crap.

hmmm havent seen that one i'll have to check it out

Eva might not be for everyone but personally it sorta blew my fucking mind from beginning to end, especially the end, But yah I'd say watch the first two or so episodes and see if you wanna get into it.
